Treatment & Prognosis: Most cases of inclusion body fibromatosis regress spontaneously and the overall prognosis is excellent. Given that there is no known risk of aggressive behavior or malignant transformation, a wait and watch approach is appropriate. If resected, there is a high risk of recurrence (50% of cases) which manifests within a few weeks to months after surgery. Some patients develop joint deformities or contractures which may require corrective surgery.
