Image Description

Higher magnification of the previous image showing a pulmonary hamartoma composed of myxomatous foci with adipose tissue. The differential diagnosis of pulmonary hamartoma includes both primary as well as metastatic sarcomas and sarcomatoid carcinomas involving the lung. The distinction is usually straight forward since pulmonary hamartomas lack nuclear anaplasia, necrosis, or increased mitotic activity.
