Pulmonary Hyalinizing Granuloma

Some consider hyalinizing granulomas within the morphologic spectrum of inflammatory pseudotumors of the lung, with both lesions behaving in a benign fashion. This low power view shows lymphoid aggregates at the periphery of the well circumscribed sclerosic nodule (bottom half of the image). This low power view recapitulates the typical gross appearance, namely, circumscribed, white nodule, often subpleural. Hyalinizing granulomas are often multifocal, raising the possibility of metastatic neoplasia.
