Image Description

There are several microscopic patterns that can be seen in sclerosing hemangioma, often within a single lesion. This field demonstrates the hemorrhagic pattern (on the left) with stromal hemosiderosis and chronic inflammation and the sclerotic pattern (on the right) which is characterized by foci of hyaline collagen. The varied gross appearance of between cases and within a given case of sclerosing hemangioma reflect the varied histologic patterns seen.
