Some cases are composed predominantly of stellate cells scattered in a collagenous or myxoid stroma. Note the lack of cytologic atypia. Immunohistochemically, most deep fibromatoses show nuclear staining with beta-catenin; however, the stain lacks specificity and is difficult to interpret.
