Chronic Synovitis (Lyme Disease)

Lyme disease in an arthropod-transmitted infectious disease involving skin, heart, joints, and the nervous system. It is caused by spirochetes belonging to the genus Borrelia. The histologic picture of the involved joint is that of a non-specific chronic arthritis.
