Image Description

Higher magnification of the previous image. The tumor cells are compressed and trapped in the osteoid matrix and resemble "normal" osteocytes. In such cases, the diagnosis of osteosarcoma can still be made (even without identifying tumor cells) given the permeation pattern of the osteoid in between the preexisting trabeculae of medullary bone.
