Image Description

Plump osteoblasts lining bony trabeculae in an osteoblastoma. Treatment is usually by curettage followed by bone grafting to fill the defect. Prognosis is good. Some cases are locally aggressive. Rare cases of malignant transformation have been recorded. The most important reason to know and recognize this rare tumor is to avoid mistaking it for an osteosarcoma.
