Grade III chondrosarcoma showing pleomorphic, hyperchromatic nuclei. The main treatment modality for chondrosarcoma is surgery. Radiation and chemotherapy still play a limited role. Early radical excision of the involved area with as wide a negative margin as possible offers the best chance for cure. Given the location or the size of the tumor, amputation becomes necessary in some cases.
