Multiple Chondromas : Ollier Disease
Image Description
Ollier Disease is a condition in which failure of normal enchondral ossification results in multiple enchondromas. Involvement may include the entire skeleton, one half of the body, or even just one limb. The radiograph shows multiple enchondromas involving both hands.
The involved areas show central area of rarefaction. The overlying cortex may be thinned but is intact and there is no extension into soft tissues. Approximately 25% of patients with Ollier disease develop chondrosarcoma by age 40.
