Hemangioblastoma in von Hippel Lindau

Hemangioblastoma of cervical spinal cord in a patient with von Hippel Lindau disease. About 10-25% of patients with hemangioblastoma carry a germline mutation in the VHL gene. CT scan with contrast shows an enhancing lesion in cervical cord. The patient was also found to have renal cell carcinoma in his left kidney. Patients with VHL disease tend to have multiple hemangioblastomas, renal cysts, renal cell carcinoma, pancreatic cysts and tumors, pheochromocytomas, and epididymal cystadenomas.
