Image Description

Medulloblastoma with extensive nodularity is a distinctive variant that is closely related to the desmoplastic/nodular medulloblastoma. It has been previously referred to as 'cerebellar neuroblastoma.' It occurs in infants and is characterized by extensive nodularity which has a peculiar grape-like appearance on the imaging studies of the brain. The low power view shows numerous pale islands composed of a uniform population of tumor cells in a fine fibrillary background. Like desmoplastic medulloblastoma, this variant also has favorable outcome as compared to the classic medulloblastoma.
