Image Description

Most patients with gliosarcoma are treated by neoadjuvant radiotherapy followed by surgical resection of the tumor. Lower right of the image shows radiation-induced tumor necrosis. Note the hyalinized vessels and viable tumor on the upper left. The prognosis of both gliosarcoma and glioblastoma is extremely poor with median survival of only 8 to 9 months.
