Glioblastoma : Gross Pathology

The patient was a 69 y/o male who presented with six month history of changes in personality, aphasia, psychomotor retardation, and urinary incontinence. Computed tomography showed a suspected glioblastoma multiforme in the area of the trunk of the corpus callosum. The diagnosis was confirmed by biopsy. The patient died a month later from progressive deterioration of the general condition and suspected aspiration pneumonia. The hemorrhagic and necrotic appearance is classic for glioblastoma.
