Image Description
Gross Pathology: Thymic carcinoids are well-circumscribed and un-encapsulated but may be locally invasive. Cut surface is grey-white and can have gritty consistency due to calcification. They lack the lobulated gross appearance of thymomas.
The image shows a uniform population of tumor cells forming rosettes and glandular spaces separated by a delicate fibrovascular stroma (higher magnification of the previous image).
