Hydatid Cyst - Liver : CT Scan
Image Description
This young female patient underwent a CT of the abdomen as part of her evaluation for abdominal blunt trauma. CT scan shows a large cystic lesion in the posterior segments of the right hepatic lobe which contains smaller "daugther" cystic vesicles, characteristic of hydatid cyst. There is also evidence of compression and posterior displacement of the right kidney. Serology was positive for hydatid disease. Case courtesy of Dr Saeed Soltany Hosn, Radiopaedia.org.
