Microscopic Features of Solitary Cutaneous Mastocytoma (SCM): SCM shows a dense infiltrate of uniform mast cells in the papillary and reticular dermis, sometimes extending into the subcutaneous tissues. The mast cells have abundant cytoplasm and uniform nuclei. The cytoplasm is abundant and shows metachromatic granules with Giemsa or Toluidine blue stains.
