Lymph Node involvement in Myeloid Sarcoma: The nodal architecture is partially or totally effaced. In partially involved lymph nodes, the neoplastic infiltrate may expand the paracortical region, surround the follicles resembling a marginal zone pattern, or show a partial sinusoidal pattern. In other cases, there is complete replacement of nodal structures by a diffuse infiltrate that may spill over into perinodal adipose tissue.
At low magnification, there is starry sky pattern due to numerous tingible body macrophages. The neoplastic cells are immature, but usually show some evidence of differentiation in the form of eosinophilic myelocytes and metamyelocytes.
