Mycosis Fungoides : Plaque Stage
Image Description
Mycosis Fungoides (MF) - Plaque Stage : Plaques form as confluent, raised, indurated lesions at the site of patches. The progression from patches to plaques occurs over prolonged periods of time. The lesions are red to red-brown and can be round, oval or bizarre shaped. Due to central regression, they can acquire annular or serpiginous appearance. Sometimes the plaques undergo ulceration, but less frequently than in the tumor stage. Plaques on palms and soles can be extremely hyperkeratotic.
This photograph shows widespread erythematous plaques with scaling on the abdominal wall and thighs. Some of the lesions show central clearing.
