Lymphomatoid Granulomatosis : Introduction
Image Description
Introduction: Lymphomatoid granulomatosis (LG) is a rare extranodal EBV-driven B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder primarily involving the lungs, followed by skin and the central nervous system.
It is an angiocentric and angiodestructive process. The infiltrate contains scattered atypical clonal EBV-positive B-cells in a polymorphous infiltrate rich in reactive T cells.
This low magnification image shows dense infiltrate in the lung from a patient with LG. The pink areas on the right are foci of parenchymal necrosis.
