EBV+ DLBCL, NOS : Introduction
Image Description
EBV+ Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), NOS - Introduction: This is an EBV+ clonal B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder seen in apparently immunocompetent individuals. It does not fulfil the criteria for other EBV+ lymphoproliferative disorders such as EBV+ mucocutaneous ulcer, lymphomatoid granulomatosis, and DLBCL associated with chronic inflammation.
It was previously called EBV+ DLBCL of the elderly as it is most often seen in the elderly. However, since the recognition of cases in younger patients, it has been renamed EBV+ DLBCL, not otherwise specified. A higher incidence has been reported in some eastern Asian countries such as Japan and Korea as compared to the Western hemisphere.
