Image Description

EBV+ Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), NOS - Morphology: The affected nodal or extranodal sites show effacement of architecture by a population of large transformed cells with angiocentric/angiodestructive growth and geographic necrosis. The large cells resemble centroblasts, immunoblasts, Reed-Sternberg-like cells, lymphocyte-predominant (LP) cells, or highly pleomorphic cells.

Monomorphic subtype consists of monotonous sheets of large atypical cells and resembles DLBCL. The other growth pattern, labeled polymorphic subtype, consists of large atypical lymphoid cells scattered amongst reactive infiltrate of small lymphocytes, histiocytes, plasma cells, and a few eosinophils. The differential diagnosis for polymorphic subtype includes T-cell/histiocyte-rich large B-cell lymphoma and Hodgkin lymphoma.
