Image Description

Diffuse large B-cell lymphomas involving the kidney are often bulky tumors. The size ranges from less than 5 cm to massive tumors with complete replacement of renal parenchyma and invasion of adjacent structures such as perinephric fat (shown here), psoas muscle, pancreas, or duodenum.

The most common histologic subtype of renal lymphoma is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (about 50% of the cases). The remainder are also usually of B lineage and include extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (MALT), lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, lymphoblastic lymphoma, and Burkitt lymphoma.
