Image Description

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma involving the kidney - higher magnification of the previous image. The tumor consists of an admixture of centroblasts and immunoblasts with a few lymphocytes and macrophages scattered in the background. The lymphoma cells were positive for CD19, CD20, CD79a, BCL6, and kappa light chains. They were negative for CD3, CD5, CD10, CD30, and BCL2. The growth pattern of renal lymphomas is usually interstitial. In rare cases, the neoplastic lymphocytes reside predominantly or exclusively within the small and intermediate-size renal blood vessels and glomerular capillaries (intravascular lymphoma)
