Image Description

The neoplastic follicles in follicular lymphoma (FL) usually lack mantle zones as shown here. The periphery of the neoplastic follicles may have an indistinct fuzzy edge in contrast to the sharply defined interface with mantle zone in cases of reactive follicular hyperplasia. Some cases of FL may retain partial or complete mantle zones around all or some of the follicles. The follicles lack tingible body macrophages and have a monomorphic appearance due to predominance of centrocytes.
