Image Description

MALT Lymphoma - Parotid: MALT lymphomas of the salivary glands usually arise in the setting of Sjogren syndrome or lymphoepithelial sialadenitis. Lymphoma cells with pale-staining or clear cytoplasm infiltrate within and around salivary ducts. These areas appear as clear halos around ducts at low magnification (as shown here). The ducts are distorted and their lumens obliterated by epithelial cells. The normal lobular architecture of salivary parenchyma is totally effaced.
