Image Description

MALT Lymphoma - Morphology: Architecturally, irrespective of their location, the MALT lymphomas recapitulate the morphology of Peyer's patches, at least in the earlier stages of the disease. The neoplastic B-cells are initially present in a marginal zone distribution, surrounding the preserved mantle zone of the reactive B-cell follicles (as seen in this case of MALT lymphoma of small intestine). In due course of time, they form confluent sheets that efface the native architecture and destroy and replace most of the follicles.
