Inflammatory Pseudotumor
Image Description
Higher power view shows fibroblasts, histiocytes, a few plasma cells and lymphocytes. Inflammatory pseudotumor of lymph node and spleen is believed to be a true inflammatory/reactive process, unlike its homonymous counterpart in the soft tissue and other sites. The latter have been reclassified as Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor after the discovery of chromosomal translocations involving the ALK gene.
