Image Description

Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) of central nervous system usually presents as dura-based, extra-axial involvement of the cranium. Spinal cord or intracerebral involvement are uncommon. The neurological symptoms depend upon the location of the lesion and most commonly include seizures and headaches.

This smear preparation from a case of dural-based RDD shows several histiocytes with emperipolesis and scattered lymphocytes.
