Image Description

Distinction of nevus cell inclusions from metastatic melanoma is critical. Benign nevus cells are usually located in the connective tissue of lymph node capsule, hilus, or trabeculae. They are never seen in the marginal sinus and only rarely reported to occur in parenchyma. Nevus cells are monomorphic and lack cytologic atypia. Mitoses are not seen.
