Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC) in Cervical Lymph Nodes: The metastases may be well-differentiated and look like normal thyroid tissue. However, they usually have one or more features of PTC such as papillae, psammoma bodies, darkly staining colloid within follicles, and characteristic nuclear features (nuclear grooves, pseudoinclusions, and chromatin clearing or margination). Presence of psammoma bodies in lymph nodes from the neck is highly suggestive of the presence of PTC nearby.
