Acinic Cell Carcinoma : Amylase
Image Description
Acinic cell carcinomas are positive for DOG-1 and the staining pattern is a combination of cytoplasmic, apical membranous, and complete membranous staining. DOG-1 and SOX-10 have recently been shown to be markers of acinar and intercalated duct differentiation in salivary gland tumors. Other positive markers for acinar cells include cytokeratin AE1/AE3, low molecular weight cytokeratins, EMA, and CEA. Focal immunoreactivity for amylase (shown here) is seen in a small percentage of cases. Ki-67 labeling index is low. Image copyright: pathorama.ch.
