Ceruminous Pleomorphic Adenoma
Image Description
Pleomorphic adenoma of ceruminal gland origin is quite uncommon. Its microscopic features are identical to those of salivary gland origin, including an admixture of epithelial and myoepithelial components in a background of chondromyxoid stroma.
Ceruminous glands are modified apocrine glands. From an embryological stand point, ceruminous, salivary, sweat, mammary, and serous mucinous glands of the lungs are similar and therefore show similar tumors.
