Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma

It comprises almost 95% of malignancies arising in vulva. The most common subtype occurs in older women (mean age at presentation between 60 and 74 yrs), not related to HPV, and consists of typical keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (shown here). The other subtype is seen in younger women, associated with HPV infection, and has basaloid or warty appearance.
