Image Description

Endocervical Reactive Proliferations: Endometrial curettings may contain endocervical tissue (shown here). If there is squamous metaplasia or microglandular hyperplasia in the sampled endocervical tissue, it can mimic atypical endometrial hyperplasia/endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia. The presence of acute and chronic inflammatory cells as well as basal layer of reserve cells underneath squamous or columnar cells supports endocervical origin.
