Image Description

A rare trophoblastic tumor with most cases occurring following a normal pregnancy. A small percentage of cases have prior history of molar pregnancy. The tumor penetrates the uterus and presents as a myometrial mass. Uterine perforation may occurs as a complication. It is composed of intermediate trophoblastic cells with copious eosinophilic cytoplasm.
