Treatment & Prognosis: Malignant Brenner tumors are usually organ-confined (Stage I) at the time of presentation and have excellent prognosis. The 5-yr survival rate is around 90%. About 20% of cases present with extra-ovarian spread and their prognosis is similar to other high-grade ovarian cancers.

The image shows malignant Brenner tumor consisting of sheets of high-grade pleomorphic cells with enlarged hyperchromatic nuclei, prominent nucleoli, and brisk mitotic activity.
