Benign serous ovarian tumors with a prominent fibroblastic stromal component are called serous cystadenofibromas. An example is shown here. There is abundant spindle cell stroma in several papillary structures. In addition, many papillary structures show hierarchical branching from larger to progressively smaller papillae, accounting for the borderline designation.
