Image Description

Compact cellular areas with atypical signet ring cells alternate with hypocellular, pale edematous foci in this image. Almost 80% of cases have bilateral ovarian involvement. The ovaries become multinodular and are enlarged asymmetrically. The cut surface is usually firm, whitish, and may show areas of softening with gelatinous or edematous consistency.
