Image Description

Sheets of signet ring cells are present in a background of proliferating stroma. The stromal proliferation in a storiform pattern, stromal luteinization, and the presence of associated viriling symptoms may lead one towards a wrong path of diagnosis in some cases. Special stains for mucin and immunohistochemical stains for epithelial markers are helpful and must be performed to confirm the diagnosis.
