Image Description
The nests are composed of uniform, bland basaloid cells with peripheral palisading. Mitotic activity is not increased. Some nests in this image show cribriform pattern resembling adenoid cystic carcinoma. One large nest shows squamous differentiation in the center. Features supporting adenoid cystic carcinoma (over adenoid basal carcinoma) include: a mass lesion, prominent cribriform pattern, malignant cytology, solid sheets, necrosis, desmoplasia and lympho-vascular invasion.
