Image Description

This variant of urothelial carcinoma is characterized by the formation of microcysts which may mimic cystitis cystica in small specimens. Cytologic atypia is minimal or entirely absent. The infiltrative growth pattern is diagnostically useful in recognizing this lesion as malignant. Other than mimicking a benign entity like cystitis cystica, this variant has no specific clinical significance.
