Almost all cases have invaded muscularis propria by the time the diagnosis is made. The differential diagnosis includes metastases from lung or other viscera, malignant lymphoma, and poorly-differentiated urothelial carcinoma. With the advancements in chemotherapeutic regimens, the prognosis has improved in the recent years.
