Image Description

This image shows a focus of conventional leiomyosarcoma within a myxoid leiomyosarcoma. The tumor cells in the center of the image are arranged in fascicles and many have bizarre hyperchromatic nuclei. Given their rarity, the diagnosis of primary leiomyosarcoma of bladder should be entertained only after thorough sampling, immunohistochemistry, and other ancillary studies have ruled out more common entities such as sarcomatoid carcinoma.
