Image Description

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is a controversial lesion. It arises as a polypoid mass spontaneously in the bladder and is not associated with a history of surgical procedure. The image shows a spindle cell proliferation in the lamina propria with an infiltrative appearance. A delicate capillary network, myxoid stroma, and inflammatory infiltrate can be appreciated even at low magnification.
