Glandular Differentiation in Urothelial Carcinoma

Image Description
High-grade urothelial carcinoma with gland-like spaces. The irregular branching lumina seen here are in sharp contrast to the regular round or oval glandular structures seen in the previous cases. Glandular differentiation in urothelial carcinoma should be mentioned in the pathology report. If the tumor metastasizes, it would be helpful to know if the primary had any unusual morphologic features, such as divergent squamous or glandular differentiation.
