Adenocarcinoma of Bladder

Image Description
Higher magnification of the previous image shows tumor cells arranged in cribriform structures surrounded by lakes of mucin. The vast majority of tumors are associated with the invasion of muscularis propria (pathologic stage pT2) by the time the patient becomes symptomatic. The prognosis for pure adenocarcinoma of bladder is worse than that for urothelial carcinomas at comparable stages.
