Spermatocele results from cystic dilatation of an efferent ductile in the vicinity of rete testis. They are quite common and often asymptomatic. Men usually seek surgical intervention when the spermatocele has reached several centimeters in size and causes pain and discomfort. Grossly, it appears as a thin-walled fluid-filled cyst containing spermatozoa. It is lined by a single layer of flattened epithelial cells. The wall is composed of fibroconnective tissue.
