Image Description

A section through enlarged epididymis showing caseous necrosis in the center surrounded by fibrosis (same case as the previous image). Most cases of tuberculous epididymo-orchitis have other areas of involvement in the genitourinary system, such as the prostate or testis. Many patients also have renal or pulmonary tuberculosis. The symptoms and signs may be mild, consisting only of low-grade pain or discomfort, enlargement of the scrotum, and infertility.
