Image Description

Acute epididymo-orchitis in an atrophic cryptorchid testis. The testicular parenchyma is replaced by multiple, soft, yellow-white nodules which were predominantly composed of acute inflammatory infiltrate surrounded by fibrosis. The infectious agents can reach the testis and epididymis via hematogenous route, lymphatics, sperm excretory ducts, and directly from a scrotal skin wound.
